OCERA Overview

The result of the OCERA project is a library of open source software components to improve and enrich the real-time facilities of Linux based operating systems.

In order to facilitate the use of these components, an OCERA framework integrating these components is offered.

Basically OCERA framework starts from two kernels:

  1. Linux kernel 2.4.18 with the addition of a set of patches to improve the real-time behaviour
  2. RTLinux-GPL_3.2pre2 with the addition of OCERA components

Additionally, it is possible to substitute the hardware interface provided by RTLinux-GPL by a small and efficient nanokernel (XtratuM) which provide a more flexible mechanism to catch interrupts and permits the execution of Multiple Operating Systems sharing the same hardware.
